Tribal is proud to present East End Dubs, Jaden Thompson, and Nick Spencer as part of Season Two, launching as a full capacity, 10-hour rave at Hope Works, Sheffield.

As part of our launch, we’re exploring each artist’s background, key influences, and top songs.

A meteoric rise

Swindon born and London based DJ and Producer Jaden Thompson first broke onto the scene in 2017. In the short time since then he has already achieved career goals of many; at the age of just 22. At 20 Thompson was already a resident DJ at the world-famous nightclub Fabric achieving accolades like future fire talent by Radio 1 and a Billboard emerging artist in 2020.

With initial interest sparked from Timberland’s ‘Beaterator’ PSP game, early inspiration came from hip hop and R’n’B. Jaden’s tastes quickly developed to the likes of Kerri Chandler and Omar S, starting his journey and rise through the ranks in house music. Currently sitting at almost 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and with ‘Closer’ sitting at nearly 2 million streams, it’s clear Jaden has landed in the big leagues.

Working with world renowned record labels like Amsterdam’s PIV and New York’s Cuttin’ Headz the young producer looks to start his own label in the next year to further his rise through the ranks.

A lockdown couldn’t stop him

With clubs and venues closed, he hunkered down refining his sound in the studio and fine tuning his production skills.

Putting these bettered skills to good work Thompson released 9 unique tracks over lockdown, include his smash hit closer and countless remixes and edits to keep us all entertained.

New artist, new tricks

Unlike East End Dubs’ old-school crate digging ways, Jaden Thompson is firmly in the new guard of producers feeling most at home with an NI Maschine or diving into an Ableton project over Discogs pages and record shops.

Experiencing this counterpoint in approaches and sets, each one will produce is something we can all look forward to on the 28th.

One to watch

With moves towards his own record labels and appearances scheduled at the biggest clubs across the country now is your last chance to ‘know Jaden Thompson first’ before the rest of the world catches on.

The Tribal team has hand-picked three of Jaden’s tracks, one recent release, one underrated track, and an all-time classic.

  • Recent release // Only One
  • Underrated track // Freak Groove
  • All-time classic // Closer
