Rockstar Games invests into Broadwick Live
Venue operator and festival promoter Broadwick Live have welcomed an undisclosed sum of investment from Rockstar Games.
According to a study from NetBet, Rockstar’s GTA V still rakes in a cool $2.5M per day. With this kind of cash flow the investment figure is undoubtedly immense.
Over the next two years, Broadwick is utilising a mammoth £200M to fund a “significant pipeline” of projects. Five new venues will be fully operational by late 2024. One of the most anticipated is The Beams, a 55,000 sqft venue based on Pontoon Dock, East London.
The most notorious of sites already overseen by Broadwick includes London-based Printworks (cap. 5,000), Magazine (3,000) and The Drumsheds (10,000). The latter of the three was a temporary venue which has since been returned to Enfield Council.
Most notably, however, is Manchester’s Depot Mayfield. The 10,000 cap venue attracts thousands of ravers from across the country (and globe) with a 3-month season of world-class line-ups.
Broadwick Group’s company head, MD Bradley Thompson, said “We believe the greatest impact comes from challenging the boundaries of traditional collaboration; we do this through radical partnership across our business.”
“The investment from Rockstar is yet another example of this and we could not be more pleased to have the backing of one of the most well-respected global entertainment brands as we move into our next stage of growth.”
