Right, Christmas is over. We are well on our way into the new year, and the weather is getting just that little bit warmer – things in general seem to be getting brighter! The festival season is fast approaching and electronic music fans have something to look forward to this September as Mint Festival announces its return. The Leeds-based event brand took to Instagram to reveal that the festival will take place over two days, as a fitting send-off to summer before autumn officially arrives. This announcement follows the recent release of line-up announcements and other important news from festivals such as Junction 2 and Dream Valley.

After a year of cancellations and postponements due to the pandemic, Mint Festival 2023 marks the first edition since 2021. The team at Mint had to cancel the festival in 2022 due to an increase in production costs and other essential expenses required to run a festival, including fuel, staging, artist fees and contracts, staffing and many other aspects. Not only this, but the remaining effects of the pandemic also played a significant role in the cancellation. Additionally, the team at Mint were unfortunately burdened with an error on the ticketing app Skiddle, which resulted in tickets appearing to be free, causing a frenzy among fans and regular attendees.

Although the dates and line-up for Mint Festival 2023 have yet to be announced, fans and regular attendees, as well as us at the tribal team, are eagerly awaiting more information. Independently run, the team at Mint throws some of the best parties up north. They promised a big return when they announced the cancellation of 2022’s edition, and it looks like we may well get just that this year.

Both Mint and sister festival Newsam Park are set to take place in Leeds Temple Newsam Estate.
